Memeru & Kasmina
Memeru, the Giver
Memeru is a myth at this point in time as he has not emerged from his cave in hundreds of years. He was once able to be seen traveling the lands giving gifts to explorers and travelers, but has since retreated to his cave after losing one of his wings in an ambush attack by those who wished to take his gifts for themselves. Memeru was one of the original ethereals that emerged as offshoot from The Gazer’s experiments and is said to be immortal, but that has been challenged recently as he has not been seen in hundreds of years with the exception of his gifts sometimes found left for worthy travelers.
The gifts that Memeru bestowed often gave travelers such good fortune that they were able to cure deadly ailments and re-grow crops. However, if the gifts were not given to someone worthy, or taken by force, it would end in tragedy for the recipient.
Memeru’s cave is so heavily enchanted that upon entering the cave, the explorer instantly loses any memory of themselves and wanders the cave endlessly. It is said that none have ever come out of the cave unharmed, and very few come back out at all.
Though Memeru himself has not been seen in over 300 years, his presence is often seen out in the Frostlands in the form of different bloomlings and gifts left strategically for worthy travelers to find. One day, he may reemerge from his cave to once again bless the travelers with good fortune, but for now all that is known of him are the stories and legends of old.
Kasmina, Dessert Witch
Kasmina is an incredibly powerful witch whose background is shrouded in mystery; the only people who knew anything about her past were lost to the great war with Shade and she is very private when asked about her life and powers. The only thing known about her is legends told from those who lived through the great war of her incredible powers and arcane mastery.
Many of the witches of Kime perished in the attacks by Shade, but some have remained and are able to use their powers for good. Kasmina is one of them, and she is held in very high regard throughout the land, but especially in Ielrius where she currently resides. She roams around the city bestowing desserts and treats upon the people of Ielrius, though that is not the extent of her powers. She is, after all, one of the few witches who were able to hold their own against Shade and his onslaught of bloomlings.
Since the end of the war, Kasmina has vowed to not use her powers for battle after seeing the destruction and devastation that came as a result of the war. Her powers were said to be legendary and her strength unmatched by anything that Shade could produce. She now only uses her powers to create and produce joy in those around her with the hope of never having to use her powers for battle again.
